Printed to order in plant-based, non-toxic PLA. Indicative figures: final dimensions vary a little with colour and infill.
Eco and kid-safe
Printed in plant-based, low-odour, non-toxic PLA, so it is kinder on the planet and safe around kids. The edges are blunt, it is a display and cosplay piece, and little ones should swing it under an adult eye.
In the flesh
The 3D model above is the exact shape you get. Here are photos and a clip of the actual print, straight off the bed in Australia.
Real product photos and video are on the way — these are placeholders for now.
Printed to order in white across the blade and handle. Four segments, one flick, full katana. Free AU shipping over $100.
Indicative figures for the printed prop. Final dimensions vary a little with colour and infill.
No. The Whipblade is a display and cosplay piece with blunt printed edges.
Not at all. It is a 3D printed prop made for display, photos and cosplay.
PLA: a plant-based, low-odour, non-toxic material made from renewable feedstock rather than petroleum. It is not home compostable and needs industrial composting, so treat it as a durable object rather than a disposable one. Sturdy enough for display and play, but it is a display and cosplay piece, not a hard-use tool.
Closed it is just 18 cm, small enough to sit in your palm. Flicked open it locks out to 67 cm, a handle plus four blade segments and about two thirds of a full katana. The guard measures 10 by 5.5 cm and the grip is a comfortable 4 by 3 cm. See the full size guide above.
Around 67 cm from pommel to tip, roughly two thirds of a full katana, sized so it prints cleanly and ships without drama.
Black, White and Marble Grey read like a serious display piece. Matte Rainbow and the silk multi-colours are the show-offs, since the print runs through every shade as it climbs the blade. Preview any of them live above.
One colour across the whole katana is $45. Two-tone lets you choose the blade and handle colours separately for $55. The same quantity discounts apply to either option.
Every one is printed to order and usually on its way within 1 to 3 business days from Australia. Standard post is $15.99 and free over $100; express is $27.99.
